Frozen Meanders: Warming Huts At The Forks
Composed of four pieces, a formation of warming huts make a big move in the broad and windswept landscape of the frozen Assiniboine. Snow is used as a building material, packed and sculpted into geometric planes over the minimum of supporting timber structure. Visitors can gather on, around, and within the village of icebergs calved apart, shielded from the wind in leeward spaces carved from the snow’s mass. Glimpses of color through the huts amplify the subtle natural shadows of snow and create a layered spectrum of winter hues.
