Ghosts of Net World

2017
Seabrook Boat Launch
New Orleans, LA
This installation served as a meeting place for organizations dedicated to coastal issues at a public performance staged by New Orleans Airlift for the world premiere of New Water Music, composed by Yotam Haber and performed by musicians of the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra on a barge and in fishing boats at the Seabrook Boat Launch on Lake Pontchartrain in New Orleans.

A grid of sixty-six “ghost columns” made of fishing net were suspended under the Industrial Canal bridge, recasting familiar elements of muscular infrastructure as “ghosts,” as ephemeral and fragile as Louisiana’s diminishing coastline.
In collaboration with a team from Waggonner & Ball Architecture/Environment.

This was a small piece of a large public event. A full list of contributors as well as documentation of the performance can be found here
